Life is what hgappens when you are busy making OTHER plans

Sorry about being late with my post. I TRIED but I actually DO hace a life and it got in the way. I have been fighting this flu/cold for a wek now and I am just not winning, add to that my darling husband turns 50 on the 22nd, and I am trying to arrange a surprise Birthday party. online friends have been asked to please send E cards, friends from choir are being asked to sene-cards and Real World cards old friends are being asked to show up at the tuesday night "Truth Project" class, and my best friendwill bring a cake Meanwhile this cold is NOT letting up, and other that the Truth project class is being held at Pomona First Baptist  I honestly don't know what that has to do with  living in Pomona Ca

The process of putting together a Birthday party for Bob has inserted NEW goals into my life, and possibly my BLOG Bob has Cerebral Palsy and most people with CP don't get to have a 50th birthdya, or a wife, or a job or university degree. in the process of discovering how amazing my husband is I came accross bad news. the future does not look all that rosy. the symptoms for CP grow wors with aging, and about the only thing that slows it down is very agressive physical therapy and vigorous  brain fitness therapy. I have a billion things to do as an advocate for my husband, We need to get heavily involved with United Cerebral Palsy and I have to push Kaiser into providing the therapy he needs, because so far they have watched him fall into decline without so much as explaining to either him, or me what to expect in the future We both had thought that CP is NOT degenerative, and so  what it is was prettym much what the future held, NOW after reading a bunch of articles on CP and aging I realize there my not be a future, or at least not a lengthy rubust one, and that has taken a major toll on me not to mention how it has effected Bob. There is SO much to do and perhaps not a whole lot of time to do it, So, I must celebrate as much NOW as we get, and do as much as possible to make as much time as we can.

What I am eating;
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So the GOAL is to eat 5 servings a day of fruits & vegetables a day, and so far this week again the goal is unmet.  but it is better than last weel Last Wed I made a shells and chees with spinache, & had fruit for desert. I bought 15 cartons of greek yogurt at Winco and strawberries. I ate MY strawberries and yogurt, Bob just ate the yougut. and flat out balked at eating the granola, but ate the strawberries. We ate brocoli  soup on Thus ate out on Friday & Sat on the grounds that PFB was hosting a marraige seminar, that was good but Friday was the start of an internet ISP nightmare, and was was just too busy to cook.an actual meal Sat I was exhausted and Sundy I served those really yummy brightly colored peppers that are sold at the grocery store in a 2 # bag. I parboiled them let them cool then stuffed them with Tuna salad madw with gorgonzola  Canned Tuna Green onion,chopped canned pears, and celery, with a bit of mayo to hold it all together . I think we each scarfed down a@ adozen of them, and  Monday we ate Angel Hair pasta with a half a jar of spaghetti sauce thrown in with a half a chopped onion, a package of sliced potabella mushrooms and a couple of sweet Italian sausages and a simple greens & tomato salad, but Tuesday and wednesday again I was scarfing down fast food ~~~SIGH~~~
 I'll try to do better
Still no links to coupons.  & no fruits and vegie icons, & as suddenly busy as I am I don't hold out much hope for that  for next week either.
This week's cat story:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Still no pics or biographies of the Kiddens - sorry I keep telling you I have been busy. I have read a few cat stories that are far more amusing that anything  I can think of at the moment, but I failed to ask for permission to post the stories here, so this will have to do today:

 Tommy is my reed boy cat who is 4 years old and still trying to figure out the feline heiarchy in this house Miss Cleo's nighttime Napping spot is on my hip as I tend to sleep on my side, but Tommy is also trying to claim that spot. Sometime I think I am really very little but real estate, that has a can opening feature. So Tommy has a NEW trick he is trying out in his fight for prime real estate, he has started to stretch his furself fro my knee to my armpit, and I am no small person in any sense of the word. He IS that big. So there he is, all stretched out and Miss Cleo hops up on the bed and I have these flashes of what happens to the actual turf opposing armies fight over, as Miss Cleo hops up on top of tommy ontop of my hip, and since Tommy refused to budge, so did M after a while I needed to shift positions and the two sleeping cats tumbled onto the matress And I got roundly chewed out by both parties. Oh well.

All new to me

Ok EVERYBODY has a blog - well, except - until today - me. So I have almost no idea of what I am doing. I have spent the last three hours setting this thing up and I am not even halfway done. For starters I need to edit the name of my blog. I live in POMONA Ca here in sunny Southern Ca.. Secondly I need to decide when  I am going to write this, as in how often, and what I am going to be writing about, Ok OBVIOUSLY about living in Pomona Ca, but WHAT about living in Pomona

I think my goals will be to write about what I eat, where I shop, and trying to keep it about restaurants, shops, and events in Pomona with a little cat story, a recipe, a joke thrown in to keep it fun, and what I think I am learning this week to keep it interesting.

What I am eating;
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the ongoing battle of the bulge (so far the bulge has won) I am confessing that I eat altogether too much fast food. so far this week I have dined at Arby's & Del Taco - with coupons of course, but entirely too many calories and spending entirely too much money. My excuse, of course, is I want a division of labor in this house, and while I don't mind grocery shopping and cooking I don't think I should have to clean the kitchen also, and since the DH does not think dishes need to be done daily, and he should not have to sweep the floor and clean the stove as well as wash the dishes. We are at an impasse and so we dine on fast food as a compromise. So tonight I was eating my Taco Tuesday 3/1.09 tacos, thinking I might have been shorted on tacofilling  when a local rapper (Lil Saint) and his wife decided to introduce themselves  and we ended up in a long conversation that included advice from Lil Saint on how to start a Blog. So score one for eating out. it's rare to unexpectantly meet delightful new people at yout own dining table.
But the GOAL is to eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, and so far this week  the goal is unmet. At some point I HOPE I will have  fruits and vegetable graphics to show my daily average intake if fruits and vegetables for the week.
Hopefully in the future I will post links to coupons. Not today. (Someday I will use the english language more properly also, but not today. it will hel when I find out how to use spell chek.{--------------------------------Miss Cleo has left a comment})
This week's cat story
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am owned by 3 cats, White Heart, Miss Cleo, and Tommy, whose particular desciptions, and visages shall appear when I have learned how to post their pictures.

Miss Cleo has decided I need help to write this blog thing, She was standing on the keybord at one point, but is now content to sit on my chest, supported by my left arm, and purr instructions. She is not absolutly certan I know how to breath without her instructions, and I suppose I should be grateful for all her attention. I'll work on that attitude of gratitude, right now I find it  inconvenient. I WAS attempting to do a mental inventory of the fridge and pantry and possibly compose a recipe, but under the influence of my feline instructor i can only wonder what is in the cans of stuff reserved for feline consumption. Suddenluy she jumps down, and MEWS at me looking at the office door, then at me, takes steps towards the bedroom and repeats the mew, and the look, and takes a few more steps out the door. I THINK she has decided I need to go to bed, NOW! Not yet, boss I have a little more work to do

Shopping in Pomona
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last Saturday Bob, my wonderful husband, decided to get new batteriis for the little remote control for the car, but the remote control that opens the doors has been dead too long, and new batteries will not revive it. I don't know how it works to get new remote controls for cars. Hopefully someone who does know will happen upon this blog and will educate me, but the Golden Times Jewelry (3172 N Garey Ave Pomona,CA 91767 (909) 392-1162) does have batteries for such things as well as the  batteries for the tiny little keychain flashlight on my ketchain, too bad the batteries cost more than the flashlight.
What is SAD news is this: ABERTSONS, which is next to Golden Times Jewelry, is LEAVING POMONA!!
OK so this has probably been common knowledge to OTHER PEOPLE for months, but because I don't usually shop at Albertson's it was news to me.! If I shop in that area, I usually turn right on the corner of Town, & Foothill, and shop at Sprouts, in Claremont. So now we have 1 Stater Bothers, on 1045 N. GAREY AVE. NO Von's. NO Albertson's and a Winco (90 Rio Rancho Rd. Pomona, CA 91766 )  and a Food For Less.(2090 S Garey Ave  The rest of the grocery stores are either Mom & Pops, or ethnic markets. Well there's also Walmart, if you count Walmart as a grocery store, but I don't think the Walmart in Pomona has groceries.anyway.
Obviously I am part of the problem. I am willing to drive to Claremont, Chino Hills or LaVerne to shop for groceries. Well NO MORE!! I have a JOB to do, and  that's to shop in Pomona, and tell you what I find here.
How to blog
How to spell the words "restaurants" and "jewelry "
How to not press the "Publish Post" button until AFTER my wonderful husband has  read what I wrote, and corrected my English and spelling
